Syria Murders Leads to UN Action

In another tragic chapter in the world, the recent events in Syria have lead to a United Nations condemnation of the country. The reasons for this are ghastly as one may expect, with the assault on Houla being the flashpoint for this event.

The end result is hundreds are dead in Syria, many of them including children. All on the orders of Bashar al-Assad, with the Syrian Government carrying out the attacks on those innocents. The blood which has been shed is a horrific potential reflection of what may become.

Unrest is all too common in the world, and the United Nations Security Council, on this Memorial Day weekend, called an emergency meeting. Where Syria was condemned for their actions. It may become sadly apparent that this is not the tip of the of the gruesome and ghastly actions. More may be to come.

What now for Syria? That question is something that is on the tip of the tongue of many minds. Over the coming days, the United Nations will discuss further action. The best course of action to deal with Syria, providing that there is a best course of action to deal with an incident such as what has occurred. Even those who did not want stricter action, such as Russia, could not ignore the grisly massacre in Syria.

Hope for peace has crumbled to dust. The road to war has been paved, just another example of many. As the world continues to fall apart, only the innocent will suffer for the sins of many. The massacre of a hundred civilians in Houla, many of which are children, only served as a ghastly reminder.

The world awaits for the next step and a misstep could prove to have more grave consequences. Given that attempts for peace were fragile, the right decision must be made.
